At Show Me Shorts, audiences can expect a curated selection of the very best short films from Aotearoa and around the world. Every screening is a cinematic adventure, bringing together bold storytelling, fresh perspectives and emerging filmmaking talent across a wide range of genres, including comedy, drama, documentary, animation and everything in between. Short films have a unique ability to surprise, delight and move audiences, with each programme offering a rich variety of stories and styles in a single sitting.
Our programmes cater to different audiences and viewing experiences. The Sampler is the perfect introduction to the world of short films, featuring an eclectic mix of standout international and New Zealand shorts that showcase the breadth, creativity and emotional range of the format. Aotearoa celebrates homegrown storytelling, presenting some of the country’s finest new short films and shining a spotlight on the voices, places and experiences that make New Zealand unique. Whānau Friendly is designed for audiences of all ages, bringing together imaginative, uplifting and entertaining short films that children and adults can enjoy together, making it an ideal outing for families.
