The Phoenix Foundation have existed since time immemorial.
From high school distortion addicts to indie folk trippers to masters of motorik dream pop. They have toured with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, as Moniker they composed soundtracks for films such as Hunt For The Wilderpeople, they have sung songs on the Interislander to an audience of six, and performed live to millions onLater…With Jools Holland.
Following on from 2020s acclaimed seventh album Friendship the band have recently released their debut Horsepower and sophomore Pegasuson vinyl as well as releasing the singles Whistling In The Darkness, Ritual Hex and Vampire Class in late 2025 – which went on to be a finalist for Single of The Year.
TPF are working in deep isolated obsession on album number eight. If you look to the skies and see a shooting star that is the ancient gods crying as they listen to the new music these jerks are meddling with, in the wee small hours of the last days of humanity.
