Hoani Hotene (Ngāti Hauā)
2025 Billy T Award Winner, Hoani Hotene has quickly established himself as highly regarded comic with a delivery drier than Hawkeye ordering a martini.
Having recently made the move to Tāmaki Makaurau, he has been a breath of fresh air to the comedy scene having already performed seasons at both the New Zealand and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals.
A winner of the NZ Raw Comedy National Final in 2022, he is now a 2025 Billy T Award winner, and surely going to make his way onto the ‘champions board’ in his hometown Petone. His blend of real life stories, and weird reflections are a brew that makes for an excellent antidote to the world.
