Join us for an unforgettable night at Wero, a curated club event that honors and celebrates the vibrant contributions of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities within Aotearoa’s electronic music scene. This unique gathering is more than just a club night; it’s a powerful homage to those who have dared to challenge societal norms, push boundaries, and reshape the cultural landscape.
Our closing event is a tribute to the pioneers and trailblazers whose courage and innovation have paved the way for future generations. It’s a space where mana, energy, and a profound sense of belonging take centre stage, creating an environment where every attendee feels celebrated and empowered.
Wero is more than a celebration; it’s a movement towards recognising and uplifting those who have made significant strides in the electronic music scene – featuring Mr Meaty Boy, Swimcap, Sheboy and Lakeboon. It’s about coming together in a space where we honor our collective history and look forward to a future of continued innovation and inclusivity.
Come be a part of this transformative night, where we acknowledge the past, celebrate the present, and envision a future full of creative possibilities. We invite you to immerse yourself in the mana of the evening and join us in creating an unforgettable experience.
Curated by our 2023 closing night DJ, INFORDIN (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Ruakawa) – if that performance is anything to go by, this gig will truly be a night to remember!

MR MEATY BOY (Ngāti Porou , Ngāpuhi) is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Ōtautahi. She has recently returned to the 03 after her introduction to the underground dance music scene there. Her early introduction to footwork, house and techno has inspired and led to her present music description as ‘techno fetish’ – avoiding simplistic categorisation of club music and encouraging a more playful and open response from listeners. She runs a club night initiative with other Ōtautahi artists called Emotional Capacity that endeavours to connect the artists of other underground scenes in Aotearoa.
