Enter into a breath-taking world of colour, filled with large-scale soothing sensory bubbles.
This playful textile installation by autistic artist Bailee Lobb explores the pursuit of self-regulation and sensory supports. Works from In Bathing, Bask sit alongside a new performance-installation How Do You Sleep At Night?, in which Bailee will sleep in the gallery after selecting items to match her current sensory needs.
Sensory Self Portraits is a touch friendly exhibition, audience members are invited to touch objects from How do you sleep at night? while the artist is not performing and go inside the colourful inflatable artworks at any time.

Bailee (she/her) is a video, performance and installation artist who works with colour, soft structures, movement, and spatial interventions to create immersive and playful interactive environments.
Her practice explores her experience of disability as an autistic woman, in particular looking at frameworks of self-care and crip time. Rest, including sleep, accessibility, experimentation, and play are central themes in her practice and works. Her current work looks at self-regulating practices like stimming, incorporating movement and the creation of supportive structures that support her disability every day.
“Many of my works are touchable, as I personally am a very tactile person and feel the strongest connections to artworks that I can experience through touch,” says Bailee.
